Why Do We Do
Baby Dedications?

At Athey Creek, we have the oppor­tu­ni­ty to join with par­ents of new babies in prayer and ded­i­cate their chil­dren to the Lord.

We also encour­age our con­gre­ga­tion to con­tin­ue to pray for these chil­dren and sup­port the par­ents as they grow. 

In 1 Samuel 1, Han­nah promised to ded­i­cate her son to the Lord when He blessed her with a child (1 Samuel 1:11). In the New Tes­ta­ment, Joseph and Mary took baby Jesus to the tem­ple for ded­i­ca­tion (Luke 2:22). Although we do not think this is some­thing a fam­i­ly has to do, we believe that ded­i­cat­ing a new baby to the Lord is a very pow­er­ful, spe­cial thing. We love sup­port­ing our fam­i­lies and encour­ag­ing them in this way!

We are hap­py to ded­i­cate babies from zero to one year old! We would love to sched­ule a time before or after a ser­vice for a ded­i­ca­tion with one of our pastors.
