In the literal sense a watchman keeps an eye out for danger and sounds the alarm when impending harm is coming upon a city. But as we dig deeper into the role of the watchman, starting in Isaiah 21:11-12, we see how it also defines prophets, preachers, and the people of the congregation and learn how each should respond in watching, warning, and glorifying Jesus Christ.
